COVID-19 RESPONSE & PRECAUTIONS

We are committed to your health & safety during the COVID-19 situation

Your safety and well-being are our top priority, and as your healthcare provider, we would like to keep you up to date with the measures we are taking to help keep our community safe and healthy. Keeping in line with the directives issued by Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the UAE Ministry of Health (MOH) and World Health Organization (WHO), here is our commitment to you:

MANDATORY SCREENINGS

When Booking an Appointment:

When calling to book an appointment, all patients are asked to disclose the following:

• If they are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough &/or breathing difficulties,
• if they have come into contact with someone who is a confirmed case of COVID-19 illness,
• If they have traveled to the high-risk countries (as identified by WHO) in the past 14 days.

If the answer is affirmative to either question, they are advised to NOT visit the medical center until the symptoms are less severe or alternatively visit the relevant governmental medical provider for COVID-19 testing, as per the guidelines issued by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
When Visiting our Center:

All patients visiting Zia Medical Center, whether by appointment or walk-in basis, are requested to fill out a with a questionnaire to disclose the following:

• If they are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough &/or breathing difficulties,
• if they have come into contact with someone who is a confirmed case of COVID-19 illness
• If they have traveled to the high-risk countries (as identified by WHO) in the past 14 days.

If the answer is affirmative to either question, they are placed in our dedicated isolation room and advised as per the guidelines issued by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) by our trained staff.

VITALS ASSESSMENT
Blood Pressure, Pulse, Temperature & BMI readings are taken for all patients before they visit the doctor.

PROTECTIVE MASKS
All patients & visitors are advised to wear a protective mask when visiting the clinic to ensure their safety and the safety of other patients.

HAND SANITIZERS
We have also made sure that hand sanitizers are readily available across all common areas throughout the center, including the elevators, waiting areas and our reception desks. Please do not hesitate to use them.

SUSPENSION OF NON-EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

As a precautionary step to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has directed to suspend any non-emergency medical services, including elective surgeries, physiotherapy, osteotherapy, alternative medicine. dentistry, dermatology & aesthetics. We will keep you informed as more updates are received from DHA regarding resuming these services.

SHAKING HANDS & OTHER PERSON-TO-PERSON CONTACT
As per the DHA and WHO guidelines, handshakes, hugging and other forms of physical contact are discouraged. Our Doctors, Physiotherapists, Nursing and Reception teams follow rigorous hand washing & sanitizing protocols between patients, as well as when handling forms, medical equipment and even insurance cards and cash.

SPECIAL MEASURES TO OUR PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICES
By assigning dedicated cleaning resources to our physiotherapy wing, we ensure treatment tables and all equipment & tools are regularly cleaned and disinfected during the operational hours.

Switching of treatment rooms for back-to-back patients to ensure through cleaning and sanitization of the equipment.

For Electrotherapy procedures, fresh adhesive electrodes are provided to each new patient as well.
For Electrotherapy, Ultrasound, Shock wave, Laser & Hypervolt procedures, all equipment is cleaned with soap and disinfection liquid between patients.
Use of Gym Mats is currently discouraged, but if necessary, is covered with protective paper towels which are replaced between patients.
Patients are advised to wear protective gloves during their physiotherapy sessions

CLEANING & SANITIZATION
We have stepped up our already rigorous cleaning & sanitation procedures as a precautionary measure to ensure more frequent & thorough cleaning of all areas of our medical center, including elevator buttons, door handles, reception counters, bathrooms and treatment rooms. These are all sanitized & disinfected round the clock to minimize possible risks.

While the current situation is a continuously changing and dynamic one, we are committed to adherence of the safety protocols outlined by Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Ministry of Health (MOH) and World Health Organization (WHO) to keeping our community safe & informed.
