Dr. Afroze Shameem completed MBBS from Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India. She then pursued her training in the United Kingdom, having worked there in Paediatrics for over 10 years. She was a Paediatric Specialist Trainee in the North-Eastern Deanery in the UK and worked in busy tertiary units, including Great North Children Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. She has completed her DCH and MRCPCH from the UK. In addition, she has done a Masters in Allergy from Southampton University, UK, given her particular interest in Paediatric Immunology and Allergy. Dr. Afroze is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), UK. Affiliated with various international organizations, including the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI), UK, and European Academy of Paediatrics (EAP). She is up to date with Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS), Neonatal Life Support (NLS), Child Protection Recognition and Response Course (CPRR), and Paediatric Epilepsy Training (PET). Prior to joining American hospital, she worked in Danat Al Emarat Hospital, Abu Dhabi. Her interests include managing paediatric allergies, eczema, anaphylaxis, and food allergies. She has attended multiple national and international paediatric conferences. She values her empathic rapport with children.
